cannot start pro demo or enter registration key

Hello all,
A week ago I bought Moho pro as a download and installed it.
Entering the serial number produces "You have not entered a valid serial number".
Also, I cannot open the pro demo, only the studio version demo. The dialog box just shortly goes away and then comes back with no other messages.
So I contacted support and was given questions, one per day. OS: Mac Sierra 10.12.6 with file system extended journaled, Language English, .
The best bet and the last message I received on Nov. 29 was to change general English to English US, but it did not help.
I also tried to uninstall everything Moho I found, restart a lot, reinstall a lot, check my library permissions, nothing.
Maybe someone here has the idea what to do?
