Bone Dynamics stop working when I flip a parent bone.

I'm working on a project where the characters have bone dynamics applied to some key elements, motly animal tails and characters' hair.

Whenever we flip one of the parent bones (pelvic bone and/or head bone, i.e.: for a head turn), the dynamics on the children bones freeze and stop responding correctly.

We are managing body turns by flipping the the entire bone layer, but it's preventing us from doing head turns the way we wanted to.

Is this user error, a un/known bug, or something similar? Is there a workaround?
