Papagayo beta 3 is now available, with the following improvements:

* Scrubbing in the waveform view is faster and smoother.

* Playback is faster, especially for longer audio files, and especially on Mac OS X.

* Support for Spanish lipsync. This is based not on a pronunciation dictionary, but on basic Spanish pronunciation "rules". Thanks to Myles for providing some code to break down Spanish words. To lipsync Spanish phrases, just click the "Spanish Breakdown" button instead of the "Phonetic Breakdown" button.

Edit: Oh, wait, this is for v2. I'm not sure about the v3 beta mentioned above.

the OP date is 12 years ago (June 2005) -- so I guess that would be a beta for the initial release?
