How do I recreate brights on the sea on a sunset?
This is my trial to do that effect.
I'm not so happy with the color scheme. I feel something is missing.
Have you a better approaching?. Please share it!

What's off is the yellow of the sun.
It looks like an egg yolk, not a source of nuclear fusion.
Yes, there is such a yellow-ball sun, but only at sunset, when the sky is dimmer and redder.
It must be white-yellow but is so difficult to get contrast with a very lighted sky...
I'll make a new trial.

I've modified the effects until I have reached all my best.
The sea is an image obtained with splotchy effect and rotated layer by X
The seagulls are particles and have some gradient and shadow effect. Gradient rotates with the sun direction.
The sun brights on the sea are particles obviously. I've modified the velocities and lifetime to make them faster if they're closer.
The rest are almost gradient, shadows and halo.

If you don't want to download the sea image needed then render the last layer only to 1280x1280 and save it as png in the same folder than the anme file.
It took several time to render so the movie is only 1 second length.
It was not my intention but it seems that there is an growing halo around the sun moving with the animation:?:. It is a render effect and not an effect from the file.

this sea effects looks great. i really like it.
i have been playing with the birds, their movements wasn't too realistic.
i don't know if particle is the better solution for flocks. the birds maintain its individuality even when they are flying. anyway, here his a little improve to its movements, i hope you like it.
sunset2.anme (sorry, i forgot change the file name)

Wow selgin! you've done a great job with those small changes!
In fact I did not work so much with the birds. Particles odd behavior distracted me a lot. I was very confused when I scaled the layer and nothing happened... The "free floating" option was checked on and the particle birds did not change its size.
Thanks!
