You can try with
http://www.jahshaka.org/
I've tried the linux version and is a little diificult to manage. Also need a strong computer (like all non linear video editors).
Only specific for linux you can also try
http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 "cinelerra"
http://kino.schirmacher.de/ "KINO"
http://www.uchian.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/kdenlive.html "kdenlive"
http://www.xs4all.nl/~salsaman/lives/ "lives" (also for windows)
I usually use cinelerra and have used sometimes Lives.
Maybe someone else knows more free ones.

I tried the Windows version of Jahshaka a month ago, and not only was it extremely difficult to use (coming from a background of Premiere, After FX, and Avid), but the quality was almost unusable. I managed to get a usable file by rendering out a much higher than needed size, then shrinking it down in VirtualDub.
Thanks Touched!I tried the Windows version of Jahshaka a month ago, and not only was it extremely difficult to use... but the quality was almost unusable.
I thought it was just me being unfamiliar with "linux" applications. I never even figured out how to render... my brain started to hurt. It could be a tad more intuitive if you ask me.
I used the Mac version.

In fact jahshaka interface is similar to blender (another one with an interface who thrill to beginners). My favorite is cinelerra (but only for linux). Also have its own interface (not gnome nor KDE) but is easier.heyvern wrote:Thanks Touched!I tried the Windows version of Jahshaka a month ago, and not only was it extremely difficult to use... but the quality was almost unusable.
