filling free hand characters

filling free hand characters

I have drawn a nice character using the free hand tool and when I go to fill, I get nothing. I have read and perfromed the tutorial and have been susccessful filling the basic shapes and such, but it never has worked when I creat using the free hand tool. Please HELP

Your freehand shapes are probably not closed. To close them, use the Translate Points tool to drag one endpoint on top of the other, and press the spacebar to weld them together,

Or, when you first draw freehand shapes, make sure that the "Auto close" box is checked.

Still doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

I've had the same problem once, and I suppose it's some kind of bug. Using the "auto-close" option always works for me, but sometime the shape closes anyway, but cant be filled. I solved it by removing a connection and then adding it.
