My animation, for some reason stops at frame 48 and then loops. How do I make it so there are more frames.

There are 2 ways. The first is to go to File>Projects settings on the main window and type in the start and end frame you want..
Otherwise, take a look at near the top of the timeline window, where the frame numbers are displayed. That blue bar you see (yours is going to be ending at 48) defines the start and end of the animation. To make it longer, just go to the frame in the timelime you want to end at and, while holding down the <ALT> key, right-click the mouse in that same area. The same with a left-click will set the beginning frame.
