Point animation

Post by cyclearrows »

Hi there,

I have problems with point animation.
In this example I animated (moved) only the top point of the triangle.
But the 2 points underneath are also animating.
At least the tangents do.
The points underneath are identical in 1st frame and the last frame.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

Point animation in Moho is a rather tacky task and you should try to avoid it as much as possible. Just till you tame it :)
In your case/example, making all points 'sharp' would minimize the point's interaction and if you need curved sides of the triangle - ad curved points between the sharp ones. I believe you'll need to manually intervene in order to gain desired reshaping/animation.

Thanks for your reply. I need point animation for actions. I added some points and it helps. But I always try to avoid unnecessary points. Thanks anyways.

You're welcome. Experiment with the number and position of the added points as well since the same 'remedy' should work in many other cases. Due to Moho's treatment of curves, especially asymmetric / sharp-angled or just non-pure-bezier ones, a tad bit more planning ahead would make things more predictable hence easier and manipulation swifter.

A general - Try to deploy layer transformations instead of shape/point transformation, whenever possible.

Enabling fixed bezier handles, in the transform points tool, will solve that.
