I just found out that failing to check "immune to camera" was messing up my audio - why that is not default is beyond me. The stereo music file played intermittently only on one loudspeaker, then both, then the other. Fortunately, some users have encountered nearly every possible problem and are willing to help.

Yeah, I agree...it should be a default setting for a sound layer.

You could also turn off "Spatial positioning" instead...which is probably what should be off by default.
