How do I stop keyframes from being set for entire rig??

Post by Gibble »

The default in Moho is to set a keyframe for the entire rig when I move one bone. I just want to set a keyframe for that individual bone though, not the entire rig. Is there a setting I can change to do this?

Ex. I move the arm bone but the entire rig and all its bones now has a keyframe set for it at the point.

Uncheck Auto-freeze keys above the timeline.

That was simple :) Thank you
Will I need to select "relative keyframing" so the selected bone is keyframed then??

No, relative keyframing animates all selected keyframes relative to what you're doing on the current frame. IOW, if you have a layer translation animation, you can select all of its keyframes and move the entire animation around, so it still does the same animation, just in a different position. You generally will not want that enabled, because if you leave keyframes selected, it will change things on other frames.

I see. Thanks for taking the time to explain that, Wes. Very much appreciated. I will leave that off too.

Last Q:
So if I turn off "Auto freeze keys"- will I need to do anything to set a key for the selected bone?? Ex. "Set keyframe"?
Or will it still set a keyframe- but just for that bone, not the entire rig?

With Auto-freeze keys off, it will automatically keyframe just the bone you move with the transform bone tool. If you use the manipulate bone tool, it will keyframe every bone in the IK chain (every bone that moves to follow the one you move).
