Loop playback?

Post by Jkoseattle »

Is it possible to loop playback within Moho? I'm creating GIFs and would like to be able to mimic the appearance of an ever-looping GIF.
Most of the time I'm doing music stuff. Check me out at http://www.jimofseattle.com/music.

It depends on your animation but basically, you just copy your first keyframes to the end of the sequence. Naturally, this assumes you've animated with intention of looping. When you render the sequence, end the render just one frame before the last frame so the render doesn't duplicate the same frame during the loop. The result is a seamless loop, perfect for a GIF.

If you have animation in multiple layers/groups, use Timeline Visibility so you can see how the key frames line up in relation to each other. Timeline Visibility keeps the layers visible in the Timeline even when they are not selected.

If you need elements to cycle multiple times within the looped animation, used the Cycle interpolation mode at the end of these 'sub-looped' elements.

Tip: Using Alt-drag, you can squash and stretch to adjust timing. You can use this with cycled keyframes to make your 'sub-loops'.
