Post by D.C.I »

Hey i was wondering if anyone could help me , or answere a question for me?
basically im just curious if it's possible to mask over avi's etc to make it look like a moho object has gone behind one in the video(eg a tree) using a mask instead of trying to alter the moho object...sorry if it aint worded right n stuffs heres a diagram anyways.

mask avi's?

yep, easy.

1: Import the avi and make it immune from camera moves [optional but good habit]
2: Create a group.
3: Create a vectored mask of the tree or whatever object is to be revealed.
4: Create the layer with the circle (or character) above the vectored mask.
5: Fun part - in the layer inspector, open the group layer and select the masking panel - click the reveal all.
6: Open the mask layer in layer inspector and in the masking panel select "Subtract from mask [layer will be hidden]".
7: done, render or whatever.

If the mask is to reveal an object (as in a doorway), select the "hide all" in the group mask and select "add to mask [but hide layer]" option in the matte vector layer.

Just remember - the matte vector must be the lowest layer in the group.

Have fun.
