walk sequence in front view? any tips?

Post by cabbage0896 »

Would anyone have any tips on creating a walk sequence of a character walking in a front(or back) view? Aside from the translation change of walking into the distance, is there any way to manipulate the bones to look relatively normal? I've tried a few different ideas and I keep ending up with that "South Park" type of bouncing instead of walking. maybe different bone constraints? Different bone structure in the leg? open to all suggestions......

It might be useful to export a front-view character from character wizard and take a look at the walk cycle there.

There are lot of threads on this subject. A quick search brings this: How to make FORWADING walk cycle more smoothly ?

In particular, check out guyver's video referenced in that thread.

thanks neeters_guy your frame by frame illustrations were exactly what I needed. the examples showed (bone ) location in particular the grid on the floor helps a lot. I appreciate your time to answer my rookie questions.
