UV a Vector shape that will get cut up into bits

Post by djwaterman »

It's hard to headline this problem, and UV is probably not what I am asking for (is it even possible in MOHO?)

Have a look at this image.

Image

It's a textured ball, I had planned to map this image onto a vector shape in MOHO and then cut up the shape and separate all the parts so I could use physics to smash the ball.

For the record I was able to do it but only after doing a whole lot of individual image mapping on every piece and lining each one up to match.

I was left wondering if there was a better workflow, like in 3D you would just UV map the geometry, apply the texture and you'd still be able to break it all apart and the texture would remain in place on each broken piece.

Does that make sense? Anyway Moho allowed me to do what I wanted but it was a clumsy workflow dependent on the accuracy of the artist to line up textures on each section. If there is a better way let us know.

I haven't tested it yet, but maybe Smart warp can help here.
