control of the Smart dial

Post by peter wassink »

Hello!

I have two questions regarding the smart dial.

1) yesterday i accidently deleted the bone ( the "physical " part of the dial, the handle so to speak )
but the actions were still there in the action panel
i could not figure out how to create a new handle for the action. is that possible ( it was a pretty elaborate mesh so i wasn't to keen on redoing the action)

2)how do you rotate a smart dial?
i need one for an up down movement, but simply rotating it using Transform bone tool somehow jams it... it interferes with its working... because after that it will only let me do half the angle ( i think it gets stuck at the angle constraint, even though optically it is half way... which looks like a bug to me)

1) Create a new bone with the exact same name as the smart bone action. Then just animate the bone like you had the last one.
2) Sounds like you've rotated the bone on frame zero, after animating it in the smart bone action. This changes the default angle and messes up the SB action rotation keyframes. You'll need to rekey the SB rotation in the action.
