Render problem with PNG objects

Post by PatrickS »

Lately I've been having a problem with PNG elements in my scene. When I render to a quicktime movie with AS9.0 64bit, the PNGs are sometimes rendered very crude, as if they are scaled down without anti-aliasing. Some frames they look good, sometimes not, even when they don't even move. The problem does not occur when rendering with AS9.0 32bit to a PNG sequence for instance. What could this be?

I can only suspect that rendering occurs faster than reading the image files from disk.

OK, I had no idea that was even possible. Do you have any clues how to solve this?

Unfortunately no. Of course a state-of-the-art-high-end-sytsem would help ... or maybe a SSD instead of a normal harddrive? But I haven't even heard from others about their experience with such a system, so I wouldn't rush it.
