Falling dominoes

Post by jhbmw007 »

Is there a faster way to create falling dominoes rather than creating a domino on 1 layer, copying it, and placing each subsequent domino down next to it (rinse and repeat)? If I want to create a long line of dominoes, is there a faster way to create them, like 10 at a time in a row?

Never heard of a duplicate script, but it could be a good idea for a script!

I'm not sure if this script is installed by default or not, but in AS8 go to script>layer effects>RT: break apart shapes

so
- create all the bricks in one layer
- run the script to put each brick on a different layer
- now play with physics

Or better yet, have the dominoes automatically line up on a line that you draw! Not sure if that's possible though.

Also- if I were to create 3-d dominoes, there's no way to do a top-down (bird's eye) view of them collapsing, is there? So I could spell out words, etc, in falling dominoes?

I'm using Anime Studio 7. I tried Ramon's scatterbrush script but it's not working? I put it in the scripts/menu/layer effects folder- is this correct?

Ramon's script is a tool. You have to put it on \Anime Studio Pro 7\scripts\tool
It works just like scatter brush tool, but separating each piece on an independent layer. So you can create your domino, copy it and then use the scatter using clipboard.

Hmm- I did that but it's still not creating new layers. Scatterbrush is working, but everything is staying on the same layer

Cool- got it working, thanks! This could work, except it's drawing freehand so not as precise. If I wanted to make them 3-d dominoes (using 3-d layers), is there anyway to make it so that each layer created is 3d?

Yes, with Ramón's lostlayer tool you can select all the layers and make them 3d at the same time:
