Make an explosion occur where required on screen

Post by adub99 »

Using the inbuilt explosion effec (scripts, particle effects, explosion) how do i change where the explosion happens on the screen ?

When I click it, the explosion happens in the middle of the screen, even if i use the set origin button to move the origin point, its still happens in the middle of the screen

When I use the translate layer button, it just moves it (as im already 200 frames in when i want the explosion to occur)

Any help welcome !

Regards
Andy

I have solved it (maybe NOT the preferred way, but it seems to work)

Goes back to something I was taught about hiding stuff a few weeks ago...

Insert the explosion in timeline (this will put it in the middle of the screen by default)
Use the translate layer tool to move it where you want to
At frame 0, untick the visible box in the layer
At the frame where you inserted it, ensure the visible box on the layer is ticked and it will appear !

Thanks to whomever it was who taught me about hiding objects earlier

Heey Andy, use the sequencer tab above the timeline. click on it and then drag that layer to the right in the timeline until the effect occurs when you want it.
