NuBee HTML Question - Overlaying a Webpage with AS7 avatar?
Posted: Thu Dec 30, 2010 7:45 pm
A while back .. when I was first introduced o AS7.. at the SmithMicro web page there was a green (kinda as I remember) character that jumped/hopped on to the screen and prodded me to look at a demo of the product features. My question is ..is.. : How do I do that ... ( i.e.. I have a graphic of hat on the page .. and I want a rabbit to jump out of it as part of my animation)..
Thanks in advance

Although the green dude may have been an Anime Studio animation, the placement of it on the web page was part of the webpage design, probably done with Dreamweaver or a similar Web Page application. You can't just do it with AS.
You would most likely have the .avi file placed into a slice on the page.

heyvern made the green guy. I am not sure how AS implemented it into their web site but here is a post about it.

Like Mozbo said it's not anything to do with AS. I haven't implemented something like this myself but things like this you see on the Smith Micro site are almost exclusively done with FLASH. Right click on the little dude and you'll see it's a Flash object.
The process without detail
1. you would export you animations from AS into Flash
2. create interactivity (if it's more than just a one off animation)
3. prepare for the site (don't have experience or know-how)
4. give it to your coder to add to the site
In essence it's simple, but you still need to have experience to place a FLASH object into HTML to be displayed correctly.
