Are you asking how this is done?

I don't use particles but custom brushes. This is a very old flash tutorial I did:

http://www.lowrestv.com/moho_stuff/hair ... orial.html

I have a newer video tutorial on www.lowrestv.com that expands on this a bit more.

Vern,

the link to:
http://www.lowrestv.com/moho_stuff/hair ... orial.html

It looks very interesting but pulls up a blank page for me.
I will try the other link.

Ahhhh, I need to pay to become a member. I guess this is why the page is blank. Fair enough. I will try and support this.

EDIT:
Reloaded the page several times and the swf finally loaded. I think this is partly to do with me being on dial-up. AND, I see you even include a download. Very generous. thanks

Totally love your mootools implementation.

Yes, my site is a pay site but I promise to not "hold back" help or information on the forum just to make "money". I will provide the answers on the forum as well as mention relevant tutorials on my site. My answers here will be limited to text and images of course.

In reality the info in many of my tutorials have been documented in text on the forum. The video format is easier for people to understand I think but takes more effort. I love to write so doing that here is easy and fun! ;)

Vern,

I hope I didn't appear in any way critical. You are one of the most generous (and jolly) contributors on this forum.

Yes, but it all takes time and if you can earn something for all your efforts -- AND give help here -- all power to you.

The hair thing worked great. It has inspired me to try and emulate the 'lion mane' effect. Somehow I got it in my head that only png's could be used for brushes. Live and learn :!: :D

thanks - arfa

Arfa, I took no offense at all and appreciate the support from you and all the people who have praised my tutorials.

I often search the web for answers to technical questions. I come across web sites that require you to "pay" to see the answer before you know if it is any good or not. I find this frustrating.

I just don't want to appear as a money grubbing "profiteer" trying to cash in. ;)

Hey!
I was just curious on how was possible to do this with AS.
I've been experimenting with particles and this is what I obtained.

Hi Genete :) , that's really nice hair you've got there!! Is it AS or is it Synfig? at youtube it says Synfig and the picture it says AS?

btw. I've managed to build Synfig for Mac again, after a long fiddling around....nice!!
