unstable bones

Post by jakob polack »

hi there - I have a problem with locking bones - it seems they are unstable and not locked completely even though I use the bone lock function -

Does anyone know about this -if so - pleease tell me :-)

thanx.

Yep, I've had this too. I've found bone-locking to be a good tool for getting the general movement of the character right, but on many occasions I have to go back and manually tweak the movement with bone-locking switched off.

Any comments from LM?

Btw: If you wanna see CRAZY unstable, try animating a dangling rope with bone dynamics switched on. Amusing every time!

no coments from LM so far - but I think its a little bit strange that you cant pin an object entirely...maybe its in an upgrade or something.

Don´t know if it applies to your situation, but I noticed that if any of the bones in the Parent-child link have "Bone Dynamics" turned on it causes the locked bone to shutter and shake a bit.

I also have difficulty getting the bone to stay in place if it is locked. But I need to experiment more with it to see if I am doing something incorrectly.

In tutiorial 3.2 Bone Locking, it says that Moho will attempt to keep the locked bone from moving, but it is not always possible depending on what is going on in the animation.

I have found that locked bones move a little bit.

You need to upload the file to your own webpage (you can use a free web hosting service like geocities), and put a link in a message here.

Thanks for sending the sample file. I don't have a solution for you to use right now, but I think we can improve things for the next Moho update.
