Hands

Post by bupaje »

Hi. Trying to draw and animate some hands for a child character. Finding drawing them tough and trying to figure out how I should do them to animate them -switch layers, actions, bones, break them up by finger etc. Anyone have suggestions on this including drawing the darn things

I was thinking of doing something like the following image. I create a finger shape and a 'stub' for the hand then can add the fingers as layers on top of each other to make a side view; to make a palm out hand I can reuse the stub and lay the fingers side by side.

I'm basically interested in having a wave, pickup/grip toy, and a 'normal' position for front and side view while he is walking and swinging his arms.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Not sure if I muddled my question but anyway I found a few cartoon hands and feet drawing tutorials around the net. I was playing with animating them with bones today and learned a few things anyway.
