It works! But then the body starts to look wonky.

^^ do you think as long as the corner is rounded off on the body and not too accurate to the size of the circle, lets say 1/2.

Do you think it would still work? (:

Sure. Once you get the basic joint working, you can always fine tune it with smart bones. It's just a matter of experimentation.
