let's get together on IRC!!!

Post by Postality »

I've had a moho channel running to quite some time now, and there's been only a few people pop in and out.

join me on dalnet #MoHo and chat with other moho entusiasts. it can be a great expierience for all to be able to listen to the pros, and help new users alike.

let's make it fun!

My IRC software sucks. What do you use for IRC that actually works?

mIRC is the lord-god-king of all Windows irc clients. I hear it's not as simple a choice on Mac. On Linux I use irssi, which is a terminal irc program (no gui) that I refer to as BitchX without the "bitch".

By the way, the resident macoholic in my household recommends a program called, simply, IRC.

I can't fathom what it's like to have low enough self esteem to get a kick out of bringing down an irc network. :x

Denial Of Service, its an attack tryhard "hackers" do to a machine on the internet.

Basically they get heaps of computers together and flood a single server until they knock it offline, or something.

Im not sure, but I remember dalnet being pounded until the entire network was in shambles.

I thought it looked more secure because you had to register a nick with a valid email

I have to say that Trillian is by far the sexiest looking of all the chat messengers. It supports AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN and IRC all in one interface. And there's no adware of any kind. But it's Windows only, I'm afraid.
