MoHo 5 Beta 4: BUG?

Post by Postality »

When you select the selection rectangle and click the lasso checkmark to use lasso mode, the lasso doesn't seem to select anything.

Strange - I'm not experiencing this. Is there a specific set of steps that you can describe. For example, does this work:

1. Create a new Moho project
2. Draw a long squiggly line with the Freehand tool
3. Use the Select Points tool in lasso mode
4. Draw an outline around half the freehand line with the lasso
5. For me, the points in that outline get selected - is this not the case for you?

That was the first thing I checked out in the new Beta, and I find the same thing. I ran through you're checklist, and also tried to see if creating points before or after the lasso mode was first initiated made a difference. Not working. Maybe an older version of the script snuck into the install?

Has anyone tried the steps I described and had it work correctly? I specifically tried downloading and installing a fresh copy of beta 4, rather than development code, and it still works fine here.

Here's something else to try: go to

C:\Documents and Settings\(user name)\Application Data\Lost Marble\Moho

and delete the file "Moho.user.settings". Restart Moho and try it again. I don't see how this would do anything, but it's the only thing that should be different between our installations of Moho.

When you use the lasso, do you see the outline as you drag the mouse? It's just that nothing is selected when you're done, right?

Works For Me ...

No problems following your steps. No testing beyond that.

Mac G4 OS X 10.2.8. I did scrap Username/Library/Preferences/Moho.plist after installing Moho 5 Beta 4 this AM, if that matters.

Really like v.5 so far. :D The 3D layer is a great addition.

Best wishes,

Greg.

Hmm, still not working for me. I'm going to remove it and delete the installation folder and try again. I don't know what the problem is.

EDIT: Nope, it's still not working...

yeh LM its not working for me either

Created a new document, drew a squiggly line, they were all selected by default, changed to selection tool checked lasso mode, drew an outline around points(all points were deselected), let go, no points selected.

-Edit:
I just went thru all the betas and none of them seem to have a lasso tool that works. I can't recall if this was the case tho beforehand

normal selection works fine

Works fine here - Windows 2000, Service Pack 4; Moho 5.0 beta4
I'll try it tonight on Windows 98SE.

See it in action:

I installed 5.0 beta4 in a separate folder, rather than have it overwrite my 4.6.1 install.

Regards, Myles.

Maybe it's an issue with Windows XP or Windows XP SP2?

It's still not working over here...

Postality, Brian (7feet),

did you guys install it in a new folder or over the top of your previous version? (I'm guessing wildly here)

Postality, Jarrad (spasmodic_cheese) says he has the same problem on Windows 2000. When you removed it (using uninstall ?) did you check the C:\Program Files\Moho folder was actually gone or completely empty ?
(Plus the applcation data folder Lost Marble referred to ?)

Good luck!

Beta 3 didn't have an installer, but yes the folder was completely gone and I deleted the folder in Documents and file folder. I've even installed it into a new diffrent directory to see if that made a diffrence, but no go. I don't know why it's not working.

I'll have another go at it after I re-image my HD back to an earlier time. But as of right now it's not working.

when i went next next next next i mean i didnt read where it went, apart form program files/moho so im guessing yes i did overwrite 4.6.1

all the other betas i have had seperate folders.. but as i say i cant really remember if lasso worked... i think it did?

I dunno I rarely move points or draw anything in moho so Im unsure
