A couple of months ago I saw a conversation about something in ASP, I don't remember the topic... But I remember the screenshots and I thought "WOW, that's a HUGE resolution!"
Now, I'm using a dual monitor at 1366x768 each (Pretty low...)
And yours?
Maybe I can get some advice on what monitor I can buy to improve my workflow!

This is my "main" work display.

I could go much higher resolution... but... er... it's hard to read at that size... I am an old fart . At the smaller resolution things get a bit "tight" using Anime Studio with palettes fitting when docked, but it works for me and I also have two other monitors with various resolutions i can move palettes to if needed. One is a smaller flat screen (20" I think), the other is a 24" LED flat screen television with HDMI. Stuff looks freaking awesome on that. I do mostly web development so I do some resolution changing to check content display. Technically I have a 4th monitor... the macbook pro retina display screen, but I don't use it much if at all when I am working at my desk. I prefer the larger external monitors, mainly because the laptop is further away than how you use a laptop traditionally.

I also have a currently-screen-not-working Cintiq 12" but I don't have enough outputs to run it at the same time, or enough power to run two gfx cards at the moment - but I would have that as a 3rd screen if all was ideal

However, I never use more than one screen for a single application - i never put tools on different screens for example... it is still really useful to have two for keeping reference or browser or anything else on the opposite side

I wish that one so bad, but my wallet shouts in terror everytime I think about the price!

And I can see I'm not too far from the "standard" resolution...

The Cintiq was nearly 3000.- € when I bought it in 2007, this model now is down to about 1600.- €. From former experience with Wacom tablets I expect it to work at least until 2017. If the prices shock you, you can't be a musician, since professional synthesizers and keyboards have been in the same price range for long...

In every store, online and physical, the price range is 2600 - 3100 Euros.
The only other choice is the Yiynova MSP19U that costs "only" 600 Euros, but I can't buy it because the store works only in the U.S.A.

And, no, i'm a "semi-professional".
Sometimes I get som commissions, but it's still not much to claim me a "professional" (sounds like hit-man...)

Not a Cintiq, but a lot cheaper. Don't know if it's any good yet. Looks interesting though

I use an old HP tm2 tablet PC, which is essentially a Wacom penabled/multi-touch mobile computer--sort of a precursor to the new Wacom Cintiq Companion. The resolution is only 1280 x 800, so not very high. In spite of this, I do most of my work on the tm2. 'Happy Box', for example, was almost entirely animated and edited on this tablet PC, as is our current production 'Scareplane', which is almost entirely created in Anime Studio Pro. The tm2's display is a little cramped for ASP but not too bad really. I also draw all my webcomics on the tm2 using Manga Studio EX.

The desktop in my home studio has an older Dell LCD display and the smaller Wacom Cintiq 12WX. Not the highest res there either but it's where I do all the heavy lifting (i.e, 3D rendering and compositing,) on our bigger projects like 'B2' (also in production) and the upcoming 'RVJ'. ASP runs nicely on this system but the only time I can work on 'Scareplane' is during my lunch breaks at work and when I'm at the library on Saturday mornings, so the tablet PC it is.

I currently have a three monitor set-up.

L: 1680x1050 (Secondary application/s)
C: 1920x1080 (Primary application/s)
R: 1280x1024 (Internet, YouTube & Stuff)

I used to have just one monitor for many many years - and now I could not live without all three. Every time I upgraded, I simply hook the old monitor up to a USB to DVI/VGA device - which are great for the purpose.
