What did I miss?

Post by AcouSvnt »

I've been absent. I don't know why! I've had internet access all along so I can't use that as an excuse. I have the Lost Marble forum in a folder of links called "Daily stuff" that I see every day when I "open in tabs" in Firefox, so it's always there in front of me. But for some reason I've been ignoring the forum.

How are you all doing? What did I miss?

I'm going with the "soda" "pop" debate, if only because I'm from Rochester and know just how important this debate is to the infrastructure of our entire economy.

Just for the record, even though my wife from Long Island has trained me to say soda (she wears the pants I want to get into in the family), I still firmly believe that it's pop.

I promise not to tell your wife that while your lips may be saying "soda", your mind is still thinking "pop".

I grew up saying "pop", and no one questioned it, said any differently, or raised an issue until I went to college. Then I guess I was somehow assimilated, even though I never had any below-the-waistline motive for switching.

When you say "The Rapture" you mean the band right? because i don't think anyone misses them..... especially their aweful live preformance... or were they trying to achieve 'noise-scapes'... don't get me started.

It's definitely "pop" -- and my motives are pure...
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Hi, I live in Rochester.

I grew up saying "pop", but when I got to college we had so many people from down state, that I learned to say "soda".
