Graphics for democracy

A local political party asked me to illustrate their fundraiser again this year.

I reluctantly agreed.

I must say, I'm pleased with the execution of the client's request.. especially considering how quickly I knocked this together!

I scanned an old woodcut of two women in a catfight, which gave me the pose I needed.

I filtered it in Paint Shop Pro using my usual schemes, then vectorized it using VectorMagic (it's so much much better than the commercial alternatves!)

Then into Illustrator for color and compositing.

This was output as a PNG bitmap.

I brushed in the special effects in Paint Shop.

I don't like the smoke effect so much, it looks like someone did it in MS paint. Else it does look pretty good, i like the woman holding the thing - quite dramatic.
