You could produce a network worthy show with a laptop if you really wanted to. All you'd need is the right software and a quality mic. And I totally agree with your take on the industry. It's a completely different world from just 5 years ago, and the industry is still in tremendous flux. I wonder w...

I like that everything seems to be in-house and hands on. They cover every stage of production, from pitch to post, which they could easily outsource overseas to cut costs, but for some reason they don't. Flash makes it cheaper to produce stuff, but that doesn't make it cheap, especially in Manhatta...

Bones, a big big thank you for all that info. The Animation Collective seems like a very unusual studio. I'll e-mail them and post updates if anything happens. Also thanks for linking that Moho toon. Was that intended for kids? Hard to believe that was on Nickelodeon. I expected orange juice and got...

I've played with a few of the puppets to see how they were constructed and learned quite a bit. The models are EXTREMELY flexible, and I studied the joints carefully. Despite using 2d cut-out puppets the show somehow manages to animate like "The Simpsons." That prompted me to watch the beh...

Do you remember the name of the cartoon that used Moho? I'd love to see it.

Incidentally I live near the studio that produces Kappa Mikey. They're hiring Flash animators and I've been thinking about working for these guys. Is this a popular show?

Are you animating this by computer or the old fashioned way? Storyboarding gives me nightmares. You really have to know your stuff. I'm curious to see how the final animation turns out. Thanks for sharing these and I hope you'll post the final animation when it's done.

I got banned from Flashfilmaker just as I was in the middle of an interesting thread about Moho and Flash. It's not fair to punish new members for the sake of spam. Even if it's only pennies, people aren't going to give out their credit card numbers, or any other bits of sensitive information for th...

Wow $199 for Pro??? That's $100 less than Manga Studio. I hope that's enough to cover future development/marketing costs. It really should've been $299 at least. When Flash debuted it was about $499. Weird. I noticed they're already pushing a user/vendor marketplace, just like Poser. Most people pre...

Thanks for sharing these! I see more studios using Flash because it's so cost efficient, especially with re-usable library assets. You just need some dude to move the pieces around, and you can hire him at el cheapo rates. But adding Moho to the production line would take Flash studios out of the St...

It's not perfect but something about this made me go "WOW." Really sophisticated mix of animation tech and effects. The mouth alone is gorgeously constructed, and perfectly synched to the audio. If you had her speaking during the head turn, I'd be changing into a fresh set of Huggies alrea...

Welcome to the boards Fahim! If there are more like you at e-frontier then I'm convinced the customer support for Anime Studio is in good hands. The announcement about the free upgrade was an extremely gracious move on the part of e-frontier, and that alone says a lot about the kind of people workin...

I recommend calling this the "head turn" tutorial even tho its a starry blob thing in the example. Point motion is the best way to handle non cut-out style animation, especially with this technique.
