Did some work on the headturn. The file is a bit cluttered but I did my best to keep it organized. The model is designed specifically for swf vector output. Here's a preview animation: http://darthfurby.ifastnet.com/wendyturn.html http://darthfurby.ifastnet.com/wendypre01.png and here's the Anime St...

artfx: The blue dot was created in Adobe After Effects using something similar to Anime Studio's particle system, but it's a raster effect and has a lot more power. I used 3 different programs to create the test: Anime Studio Pro(Wendy), After Effects(blue dot), and Flash(exported swf). That pretty ...

I hope you make a show out of this. I read the character profiles and backstory. It's awesome.

Sample Model in Progress

I've learned a lot from the generosity of other forumites, so I thought it might be nice to give back some. I articulated this model using switch layer based point interpolation for the eyes and mouth, and started work on a full head rotation. It's not much, but I thought this might be cool to share...

I think I'm going to buy the DVD for this too, but it depends. How much and what kind of special features did you cram in there? This is easily something that could've been on MTV during their liquid television days. If you really want exposure get airtime on a cable channel like SpikeTV. That's a g...

Working in a team is great fun. You can feed off the energy of others. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do that soon.

Mask the bottom scene. You need to create a mask layer above that bottom scene layer, and have a shape in the mask layer move across to reveal the bottom scene. Hope that made sense. There should be a built in tutorial in Flash that shows you how to work with masks.

I remember seeing the storyboards for this. I would say your Animation > Board. The water intro is a bit awkward, but the island scenes instantly reminded me of animations in educational games for children, which are pretty sophisticated these days. Thumbs up.

Nice! Not enough people take advantage of the particle system. Too bad it doesn't work so well in swf format. Just think of the mayhem you could create with huge armies running around!

Cool! My only gripe is that he looks like a friendly sidekick shark, not the bloodthirsty creature that dined on Robert Shaw.

I've had this problem. If you can, export only a couple of layers at a time, especially if you have a lot shapes, or complicated shapes(i.e. objects with holes or combined edges) in a swf. Flash likes to digest things in small chunks. Also when a shape becomes too big or extends out of the scene pas...

I'll probably get rejected many many times before I finally catch a break, but that's ok. Try playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live, you get your ass beat by 12 year olds all day. I can't remember how many times some prepubescent kid screamed "OOOOOOOWWWWNED!!" If you can put up with that then getti...
