Re: A year without any updates

Maybe I'm wired completely differently, but if I buy a software then I care about what it can do right now. I don't care about what it might be able to do next year. As for support, the best sign of commercial health will always be Moho's engangement withing this forum, and that is quite well over a...

Re: So I bought Moho pro...

Usually you download the installer once, and save it on your side (recommended). The activation/deactivation process of the installed program has no limit AFAIK.

Re: A year without any updates

I really don't get this mindset. I still use Moho version 8 happily, which is 12 yrs old. 90% of what I do can be done with that version. The recent version 13.5 is stable and works perfectly for me, I expect to use it another 10 yrs. Of course I will update whenever there's a chance, but my work do...

Re: A year without any updates

I think we should introduce a new habit here in the forum: any first time poster (like this one) with only 1 posting complaining about Moho (not having feature X, urging to get feature Y, or demanding a new version) should be completely ignored. Furthermore I suggest we just delete those posts as th...

Re: Moho 14. And The Rise Of AI.

Think of SIGGRAPH demos, the kind we see for 30 years now: always impressive, sometimes with good ideas, but they all are just lab setups with no connection to the real world. There's a reason why we don't see the impressive renderings of 3D fractals, Stable Diffusion's Steal&Morph, or any of th...

Re: Moho 14. And The Rise Of AI.

That's a bit elitist, wouldn't you agree? Not at all. I've seen my fair share of new technologies appear and disappear over the decades, and had many a discussion about it. There's always that certain kind of people who, while not the least experienced in the field, urge everyone to embrace the hot...

stable diffusion for animation

Have a look at https://www.cartoonbrew.com/tools/stabl ... 29044.html, I'm sure some of you may want to play with it.

Re: Moho 14. And The Rise Of AI.

I'd really like to discuss AI, what it can and what it cannot do, how it works and how it scams artists, who finances it and who profits from it and who not - but only with folks who have a decent understanding of animation in terms of real, years-long experience in production. That said, I think th...

Re: Tips on drawing character for rigging

Since this pops up regularly I'd like to point a hint or two: You don't design for rigging. You design for your story and the movements within. Only larger productions can spend time to build a one-fits-all perfect rig, but it doesn't make sense to do the same for a shorter project which doesn't nee...

Re: illustrator to Moho

This pops up since 2008, and the best answer is: build the graphic in Moho, directly, because then it's much better suited for animation. If it's a prop element which doesn't move or bend it's recommended to render it as image. Moho and AI use different concepts for describing vectors, so there's al...

just some CGI in your video

It's impossible to keep track with all the new developments in the field. Here's something I just stumbled over https://wonderdynamics.com/. It replaces a human in a video with a CGI character of your choice. Haven't tried, don't need (hopefully never).

Funny that we basically still use the same tricks like in 1970's light organs.

Re: Need advice on which software to use

Aside from the walk cycle which seems a bit off, everything is simple but effective. I like the style, especially the photograph BGs (a bit like the "Eleanor Rigby" sequence in Yellow Submarine). (Do you know L'homme au chapeau mou (1979–1982) by Tartempion ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: How to make particles react to music?

None of the settings inside the particle layer is animateable, unfortunately. But you could do something with the particle layer itself: scale and translate. And these movements could be controlled by a bone wiggle. The rhythm in your example was achieved in post, I think: just render a longer clip ...
