Hey dave ( Squeaky - I like that name!!!! ) You are correct. This seems to be one of the main problems with the software upgrades. Tori at SM has brought these issues to the attention of the SM team and it looks like they are going to take a good look at these and make things happen in the near fut...

A new version of Anime studio!... I'm still on 5.6 and looking at the new feature list that is where I shall likely be staying. I think all the other professionals have nailed it but I will add that the basic animation features - Curves, interpolation, having locked bones stay where the are locked e...

Hey Dale Squeakydave - CelAction is great but, animation wise, there is nothing in CelAction you can't do in Anime Studio as far as I remember. In fact you are limited to cut-out style and (unless it's changed) you can't animate the layer order and no nice smooth bending joints. If you just want to ...

Hey FK. Thats cool. I thought you drew the keys and then matched them in AS. -A kind of very hi tech Paint and trace. No offense meant. I love the technique and wish I had the resources to work like that.:D Does AS7 add much to your work flow and if so what. I'm curious as most of the advances don't...

I think they use an older version as their technique seems to be to use AS as an advanced paint and trace software. (Which frankly I am in awe of) I'm not sure that V7 will help that much apart from multi core rendering....

and that is tempting:D

Same for me really. AS6 pro really made me think that it was aimed at the hobbiest and I started looking at TB Animate and recently CelAction which is really geared to the professional and series market (And pretty much the standard in the UK 2d series animation scene) That said, I had a recent comm...

As a professional Animator My biggest gripe with AS Pro (any version)is the word 'Pro' though to be fair that is not just an issue with Anime Studio
Marketing pah!

Sadly, from what I glean V7 doesn't address these issues. I usually end up keying every frame especially on walks (Where the bone locking doesn't work). This is one of the reasons I am hesitating to upgrade. I sent V6 back because the Gradient fill seemed to be broken (and seemed to break my old pro...

Any sign of a demo. V6 just didn't do it for me (I sent it back). The gradients just didn't work as well as in V5. Id really like to be able to test any 'advanced tools' before I buy.
P.S Are there more easing options?

I have a soft spot for TVP. I just like the drawing tools. Though saying that I do most of my drawing with Sketchbook Pro on a tablet PC - it just works better on that platform. I just had a training day on Celaction and must say I am VERY impressed. It is very productivity based in the nicest of al...

Hey DM. I've had all kinds of basic problems with Animate. Tec support have been pretty good but most of my hiccups it seems will be fixed in the next release -April ish. I have got a shuttle controller but as you say, not as nice as paper - or TVPaints flip button. SWF - Animate is sold as an upgra...

Yeah. The onion skins were a bit of a surprise. Completely unusable in their standard form. I kind of have a nagging feeling that Animate was rushed out in an unfinished state so I'm pretty unhappy that the next upgrade is a paid one. I found AS v6 not much use due to the new gradients so I sent it ...

Well. I bought Animate standard and though it promises much but is pretty flaky. Drawn Animation. It might be me but the interface seems to get in the way and I can't seem to get any flow. With paper and pencil you can flip as you draw and get into some kind of groove. I can't find a way to manage t...

Opening a Moho File.

I'm trying to open an animation I did in Moho back in 2001 and I get a message telling me I need to update the file using the file updater. Any ideas as to where I might get such a thing?
