Re: Life milestones
Bit late spotting this post Mike. Congrats anyway i haven't been here since BeOs but it has been a journey. In that time, I've lived in more than ten houses and lived in three cities :D Moho has actually been one of the only constants, other apps, even still in my quiver have not been study friends ...

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
Cheers Paul. :D So if you use Clip studio you would know that making vector brushes that are all but exactly the same as bitmap is very possible. In that app it works great, but they still have both types of layers, you can use FBF but you can't animate the vectors like in Moho and no z space or cam...

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
Yes to both Sam and Chucky -- there are deep issues that need to be considered... so let's take a look at this from a slightly different direction. what does bitmap give that vector doesn't? conversely why has Krita embraced SVG (and so offers vector graphics)? what about .EPS / .AI vector formats?...

I'm not sure about the approach of, 'If you want to use Moho, you should use After Effects.'
Yeah Nah

yes low offset and high scale, plus I mostly use a high step rate maybe even to 4s which looks less bubbly

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
I think the main danger for a commercial app working alongside and with an open source ((which is probably not that viable anyway, unless you are just an add-on appendage to the free tool), is that by doing so, one would be shining a light onto the open community, giving them free marketing and open...

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
IMO, trying to add functionally rich bitmap tools to Moho is akin to re-developing then maintaining / enhancing something that is, in lines of code, the size of the main core of Krita. Still IMO, there is no point in asking or expecting the Moho dev team to do that when there's animation stuff that...

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
Oh, it's imperative that vector drawing is upgraded, you can't have better bitmap without that first as I understand.

Re: Drawing in bitmap directly in Moho
Have to disagree with Hoptoad on this one. Of course, people would pay for that. Itt is a crucial part of almost any pipeline. I often pop back to 13 for those tools, but as it was an improvised feature from other developers, the core of the program had to be returned to a clean slate, which is far ...

I agree with Killian, about subscriptions.
Apps with subscriptions are not something I stick with personally.
It's about the data and art, creators need access.

It looks fantastic,
great to see Moho implemented so expertly and creatively.
Congrats to everyone for beating the system and making something so charming.

It also happens sometimes on the 'MohoShow' channel at TOONFEED Discord (sometimes unintentionally: oops: )- been a bit slack recently (no pun intended)

Re: Lens flares: yes or no
Recently I've heard that streaming services compress films so much that there's no grain left, and add artificial grain in the player again. Didn't verify this yet, but if so, it would be a serious intrusion into the director's intentions. Wow, hopefully data rates and compression tech will hopeful...

Re: Lens flares: yes or no
On the topic of grain, it's not preposterous yet.
Unfortunately, current compression methods often force the use of grain to reduce artifacts like bands and blocks.
Streaming can really get cheeky so anything that can trick the compression is welcomed.
