Re: Masking problem with hidden edges
I tried to set up a sample file similar to the original post to see what could be done to work around this antialising issue. That is what is causing the white lines. It has to do with the mask antialiasing and creating a "lighter" color at the edges. This is not a scientific exact explana...

Re: Looking for an animator for a 5 minute video clip
Another cool idea would be to "mix" live action AND animation. This would cut way down on how much animation you need and would show off the "live" band aspect or if not the live band whatever live footage you shoot. By mixing animation with live action you could reduce the amoun...

Re: Looking for an animator for a 5 minute video clip
Sorry if my post sounded a bit pissy and scolding. Didn't mean it that way... or maybe... I did just a teeny little bit. ;) I just hear this nearly everyday with every potential customer in my own business. They are fairly large companies that have already spent thousands upon thousands for every ot...

Re: Looking for an animator for a 5 minute video clip
I would suggest finding some way to raise the amount you can spend to at least make it worthwhile for a talented beginner animator. Maybe take your project to a university where students could cut their teeth on a project at a discount for school credit. Many universities offer courses for animation...

Re: Export animation doesn't render brushes
I also thought that somehow ASP 10 was accessing another version folder but it isn't. Obviously the brushes names were changed between 9 and 10, this means that SOMEWHERE, in some string file or something in the application is some sort of "conversion" list to swap out the names of brushes...

Re: How do I make 2 bone structures interact ?
You may want to fiddle with the new "target" property of a bone added in v10. You could have two chains in one bone layer, and a bone not part of any chain. You set the target of the "hand" to this other bone. If for example you had two arm chains and wanted to link the hands, se...

Re: Mormon Secrets- FINALLY finished!!
Nice job! I agree with the previous critique. I think though that the issue with the woman has more to do with "acting" skills. She was reading her lines... but there wasn't a convincing emotion behind it. A few other things that stuck out to me: Because there wasn't a lot of "action&...

Re: Export animation doesn't render brushes
I may have a workaround but don't know what caused the problem to begin with. It may be a corrupted file, or some issue opening older files in the new v10. I have versions of Anime Studio back to v9.2. This file was created originally in an older version of Anime Studio. The names of the brushes are...

Re: Export animation doesn't render brushes
On a mac here, no problems with brushes rendering. Your problem might be the "double shapes" as mentioned previously. Your custom brushes could be rendering but are covered up by the second shape. As for the path to the brushes in the file format... hmm... I don't see a problem there excep...

Re: Rigging a worm in AS10
One question. How are you getting the bones to squash? It's a little trick. The bones have Squash and Stretch scaling activated, but that only works for stretching. By default, if the target is close to the bone, the bone never goes lower than its normal scale. To "activate" the lower sca...

Re: Rigging a worm in AS10
Awesome!
have to try this out. I am thinking this could work for limbs and body with some additional rigging. Will have to experiment.
My thought would be "sections" of "squash and stretch" within body parts that can also be rotated.

Re: Bending is not working correctly
Gradients don't "bend" with bones the way you expect. The gradient shape won't "bend". To get the effect you want with the shading on the sides of the tree, I would use the shading or halo effect with a high blur. As for the tree not bending correctly... look at where the points ...

Re: export vectorized image
I agree that a high resolution rendered raster image will work fine. Another issue is that SWF export does not support a bunch of features from Anime Studio, like gradients, brushes, shadows, shading, etc. Often though, raster images can get quite large and vector is more manageable. Also you can sc...

It's a less offensive version of Wren and Stimpy for the 21st century. It also harkens back to Rocky and Bullwinkle.
I like it.

Re: Ordering layers
I'm not exactly sure but I think there is some weird display bug in 10.1, I have changed layer order in a smartbone action and had some of the layers display very tiny, so all of a sudden you basically don't see the head layer, or a foot, but rendering will display the whole character as expected, ...
