Re: 9.5 is out...

Pretty excited about these new features. Particularly the nested layers, switch groups and mask groups all working with bones. New Flexibind improvements are also great. Should make character rigging quicker. Hopefully v10 will see proper motion blur and the option of switching to bezier drawing too...

Re: Image resolution loss and non-smooth edges- How to solve

I did this inside Photoshop with layers. I put a layer in the background with a white fill. I then made the opacity 1% and exported a PNG. Hope that helps.

Re: Image resolution loss and non-smooth edges- How to solve

You could try having very high resolution artwork to start with, then putting a 1% opacity fill of any colour behind the whole thing. I believe this solved the issue for me last time I was dealing with PNGs.

Re: Adobe Dumps Flash

I wish HTML5 was a worthy replacement to Flash but I don't think it is. The biggest advantage with Flash was you could use any font you want on your system and it would render it the same on every different device. With HTML5, you have to use web fonts to be safe and there seems to be too many varia...

Re: Any improvements to the drawing tools in 9?

From memory, shapes like an accurate semi-circle were difficult to draw and are easier with bezier curves. You needed to create extra points than is necessary. Also, illustrator imports got the colours all wrong and the line work also didn't translate well. I'm hoping for bezier drawing tools one day.

Editable Velocity Curves!!! Finally.

Let's just cross our fingers for drawing tools with bezier curve editing (will import illustrator files better with fewer points) and true motion blur.

I've never been this excited before about an ASP update! Love the announced new features!

Re: Help Shape the Future of Anime Studio

Please switch to bezier drawing tools! I'm sure this will improve illustrator imports. Bezier drawing tools also offer so much more precise control over object shapes with fewer points. And I've said this before and I'll say it again... proper easing in/out between keyframes. I hate the smoothing ef...

Re: White Edges around PNG images?

Thanks Slowtiger, that works. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update. It's a bit annoying having to do this to every PNG image I import. I have such a love/hate relationship with this software!

White Edges around PNG images?

I noticed this problem a few years ago, but thought they would have fixed it by version 8. I'm working with PNG images and they have white edges around them. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, is there a solution? I tried PSD and Tiff images and they gave black edges. The problem seems to ...

I haven't used actions in a while, but I remember being really frustrated by the usability of it. Especially, when an action was recorded over multiple layers. I believe if you had a walk cycle action and it was separated into layers of animation like head, body, arms legs etc., you had to click ind...

Fix Easing in/Out

Great post. Thanks for setting this up.. I agree 100% with capricorn33. The biggest thing lacking in Anime Studio Pro is editable velocity curves (finer easing in/out control). The current model for easing in/out that Anime Studio Pro uses is inaccurate and useless. Once this is fixed, I'll be very ...

Importing Illustrator files. Colour accuracy & layers...

Are there any tricks to importing adobe illustrator files with correct colour accuracy? The file I imported was way off the mark.

Also, how does one import a layered illustrator file in ASP7 or ASP8 while keeping the layers separated?

Thanks.

Mike (Lost Marble) is aware of the requests for an improved curves editor. In the Q&A thread, I asked him about this. No promises, but he is aware and there is hope that this feature will get a patch.
