Re: How long have you been animating?:D

Speaking of Bryce, here is something I did back in 2001. Yeah I've been animating since Bryce and Flash 4. At least 14 or 15 years now.

Re: Adobe Character Animator vs Anime Studio Pro

I understand there will be character rigging tools for advanced users though... I think they just focused on the face tracking feature as it's more of a selling point in their opinion.

Adobe Character Animator vs Anime Studio Pro

So, this will be interesting: http://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2015/04/adobe-character-animator-revealed.html I think it will be a long time before Adobe can catch up to to ASP with advanced features and what-not. And that live-cam stuff looks a bit gimmicky. But, looking forward to how a bit of ...

Re: What would you like to see in 10.5/11?

- The option to draw using bezier points/curves rather than the current method. I understand a portion of you all are used to the current tools. But people like myself would love to illustrate our characters in illustrator and then import them into ASP without heaps of extra points appearing. So a b...

Re: What do you do for sound effects?

Freesound is good.

But if you're working on a client project and there is a budget, use a professional if you can afford them. Ends up sounding ALOT better.

I'd stick with Wacom Intros or Bamboo.. Try eBay for an older model.

Re: ASP 10 Drawing tools question

One important thing is that bezier drawing tools would allow for better importing of illustrator artwork. In a studio environment where artists and animators work together, this is very important. Although many of you have no problem tracing artwork, this can be time consuming if there are 20 or so ...

Re: ASP 10 Drawing tools question

Heyvern has the right idea. I thought the solution might have been something like that. The other technique using just 3 points does not produce a perfect semi-circle but does a better job than I thought. Heyvern's technique is also useful in creating moon-like shapes.

Re: ASP 10 Drawing tools question

So this shape (semi-circle) was done in Illustrator with just 3 points. What would be the best way to do this in Anime Studio Pro. Would it be by adding an extra 2 points above the 2 bottom points of the semi-circle? Or would it be by drawing a circle an...

Re: How long have you been using AS?

I think around 2005 or 2006 when it was still MOHO. Unfortunately in the years that followed, I got really good at After Effects and found myself out of convenience using that instead. Version 10 looks really good and I would love to learn all the new stuff that has been developed since I took a bre...

Re: Grading 2d animation for TV in 2014

I guess the best test would to have the animation on my laptop, visit a bunch of friends/family and test it on their TV's and get the colour settings at a level that works the best on all TV's. This is just a bit inconvenient though.

Grading 2d animation for TV in 2014

What are peoples thoughts on the best settings for colour grading 2d animation for television so that it looks as close as possible to how we see it on our computers. Keep in mind, many TV's today still have colour saturation and sharpness settings adjusted higher to make the image pop and look bett...

Re: How long does it take to make an episode?

I'd say 5 minutes including script, storyboard, artwork, animation and audio should take roughly 8-10 weeks. Of course, if there is a team involved, it could be cut down to 2-5 weeks. Also depends on the level of detail in the artwork and animation.

Re: Real motion blur without an expensive plugin!

It's not always the best, but I just use Reelsmart Motion blur plugin in After Effects. Pretty easy, but of course I would prefer it if it was built into Anime Studio Pro.
