Hey Vern, That's what I figured out for how to work around it. I ran into it in my newest newbie tutorial http://fiziwig.com/anim/index04.html when I created one eye with movable eyelids, eyeballs, and eyebrows and then copied all the parts to make a matched pair of eyes. I just stuck a hyphen in fr...

Two items for the wish list

When you launch the program it would be nice if it opened the last project you were working on instead of the generic startup file. When you copy and paste a shape it also copies the shape's name. But then you can't pick the one of those shapes by name from the drop down list because it always selec...

Moving and blinking eyes - New tutorial

My latest adventure in learning Anime Studio was to build and rig a pair of eyes for moving and blinking. I wrote down what I did as I did it, and here is my latest newbie tutorial on putting bones in eyes to control them.

My Tutorial

They say the best way to learn something is to teach it. So as I learn Anime Studio I'm writing a tutorial for absolute newbies like me. The thing is, newbies like me follow the instructions in the tutorials and yet things go horribly wrong anyway. So what I'm trying to do is to document what things...

I'm a newbie too, and I've had quite a few shape filling problems. I figured them all out so far. Maybe if you could post the anme file for the shape myself or other members might be able to take a look at it and see what's going on.

I fixed the page so that the completed animations are embedded for easy viewing. I also moved it to http://fiziwig.com/anim/

Old dog, new tricks

I'm just starting to learn how to use Anime Studio, and I've decided to keep a journal of all my experiences for posterity. (I'm making ALL the mistakes, so you don't have to.) I now have my first 23 seconds of animation completed! It's not much, but it's part of my learning process. You can see wha...

That's pretty cool! But VP6 is a flv codec. It won't play on my system in avi format. Thanks. RE: VP6 codec, I discovered that when I tried to show the animation to a friend on his computer. I guess I need to upload it to some video sharing site. Any recommendations beside YouTube? --gary

Thanks vern, DOH! So simple! Yet not really obvious at first. (I hear a voice in the distance: The evil programmer is laughing: Bwahaha. Silly boy. You have fallen into my clever newbie-trap!). No, I never worked with Flash. The only "art" kind of thing I've done is still images with Poser...

Another newbie bone problem.

BOY! Bones can be difficult to master!!!! I built my stick figure man and got him all rigged and he worked fine, so I thought I'd play around with something a little more complex. But I'm stuck on the simplest possible problem. I rigged the arms and legs the same exact way. The arms bend properly, t...

At the top of the time line window is a "Settings" button. Click that and check the boxes for the channels you want to see in the time line. Fills and strokes are off by default. Yes, I'm familiar now with the settings button. But when I click it there is no option to see strokes and fill...

heyvern and slowtiger, Thanks so much for clearing that up. Gradually, bit by bit, the fog is beginning to clear. :) I looked at the raw .anme file as and a retired programmer I have to say it would be a piece of cake to write a little stand-alone program to manipulate the timeline in various ways t...

Genete: I tried this 4 times now and it just seems to break everything in the animation. I don't understand what it does to copy frame 1 to frame 1. Isn't frame 1 already at frame 1? I don't understand. Also, when I try Copy Current Frame with Copy Entire Document checked and copy it to some other f...
