Did you lower your preview settings while you worked on the animation? Turning off some of the more intensive effects -- shape effects particularly -- can speed up things dramatically. If you did reduce your workspace preview settings and you still suffered slow operation, though, then I don't have ...

I notice a trend! :)

That '88 Floyd tour was amazing...I managed to see it twice in Toronto. That's still one of my favourite concert videos!

I wonder why they emphasize that the food is stored in a "spacious" warehouse. Is it "free range" dog food? Is it happier because it has a little legroom?

Thanks for the comments! I'm thinking of using the tablet less for freehand curves than for regular "add points" drawing in AS, which seems feasible, though I'm still puzzling about which hotkeys to add to the buttons and radial dial. And thanks for your tip, GCharb...I'll do some tracing ...

Using a Draw Tablet

I just picked up a Wacom Intuos4 medium draw tablet. Unfortunately it doesn't come with pre-packaged skill or talent. People are telling me to consider it a replacement for my mouse, and that in two weeks I'll be using it for everything. Is that the opinion of anybody in here? Is that a goal I shoul...

You can put me in the "no eyebrows" camp. I like the austerity of the design, and I think the eyebrows take away from that...your animation test conveyed plenty of emotion just through eye shape.

I do like the eyebrows look...but I like the "no eyebrows" more!

Doesn't onion skin help? (You can make visible the key positions of the object by adding a onion skin mark at that 1200 frame) -G Yes, onion skin would work too (with the view changed from "Camera" to "Front")! The good thing about viewing movement trails is that they show the s...

You use Motion Blur for a reference? Or you apply the effect in a third-party program?

Vagabond, since "Flip Horizontal" is a layer option, you need to enable "Allow Animated Layer Effects" in the layer's General tab before it will add keyframes. Otherwise it applies to the entire animation (Note: This only applies to the 6.x versions of Anime Studio). Or you can u...

This is working for me...I can make the layer fade in and out with an action.

Have you checked the "Allow Animated Layer Effects" checkbox for the layer?

Thanks, Lwaxana! That's even better! I'd dismissed using the layer trails because of all the zooms and pans between frame 0 and frame xxxx, but after reading your link I remembered the View > Direction > Front trick and...yes! There are the trails in frame 0, showing a perfect series of trails I can...

Aha, sometimes just typing out a problem is enough to make you think of a better way! I can't use the raw X,Y position for the OBJECT, but I CAN use the raw X,Y position for the DOT layer. I can move the dot to the object's position, view the dot's X & Y values, then go back to frame 0 and enter...

Transferring Object Positions for a Single Layer to Frame 0

I'm animating an object around a complex series of obstacles over 1600 frames, and I need to have a dashed line follow the object as it moves -- the typical "boat charting a course across a map" effect. The dashed line itself is created on frame 0 and it remains unchanged through the whole...

Happy interpolating,

As mentioned in the users manual, interpolation only makes a smooth transition "as long as they’re all vector layers and contain the same number of points." I'm looking at the Jace character and it's apparent that the switch layers don't all have the same number of points (compare "Bl...
