-thanks.
I've got 4.5 minutes of animation to finish in the next 10 days. I'll start working on Rudiger's script after that.

Hey neon22, your frame zero requests 1 and 4 are addressed by Rylander's 'two ways to frame 0' script: http://rylanderanimation.se/2008/10/01/two-way-ticket-to-frame-0/ it IS very useful and could be an included feature out of the box. Yes I agree entirely. My feedback was based on trying to use AS...

I've been trying to use the AS8 UI natively, without any extra tools, for a complex job I am doing now. Its interesting to see the useability changes in 8. I appreciate the changes and the way its becoming easier to do some tasks now. I have the following useability requests: In timeline: When click...

IMHO they will keep Poser and remove all the low revenue s/w that has support and headcount costs associated with it. I imagine this means Anime Studio will be sold or let go. It may be time for it to move to a more ZBrush style model - but that's in my dreams for sure. It takes courage to m...

nice tut - one thing though - if you double click on the group layer and turn on depth sorting (in the depth sorting tab) you don't need to do any manual layer ordering... *edit having now tried it, i see depth sorting isn't 100% reliable in some cases... but worth a shot Yes - I'm not sure but it ...

yes the Origin tool. Also look at the data entry boxes at the top when you select "layer translate"(1) and any of the other tools. Sometimes there is a reset button up there which will put it back to normal if you've wandered it off. This happens a lot as you learn what you should be doing...

Thanks - using the grid to precisely set origins for sides is a good trick.
However using shear Z instead of a rotation is pretty strange IMHO.
BUT it works - so thats great thanks so much.

Cheers...

and make sure the layer origin for the layer-to-be-moved is in a 'good' place. The origin defines what moves along the path.

rotating layers problem - rotation order question

I'm trying to construct a number of layers to represent a simple building. All has gone well except for the sloping roof. It seems I should be able to rotate the layers in some correct order to get the roof aligned. But it seems like no... Can anyone get the roof onto this buidling or is there a bug...

do you think you should use move points (T) instead of move layer (1) ?

Rudiger - thanks for the great tool. Would it be fair to say that next steps could be to: - add support for switch layers - choosing them where rotation implied selection from top to bottom (say) of the switch list - add support for moving up and down the layer tree - thereby switching behind and in...
