Two possibilities come off the top of my head. The first thought is that your computer is having a hard time playing the AVI file. Render a small resolution version to rule that out. Second could be your FPS, frames per second. If you set up AS scene with one frame rate and then saved the AVI as a d...

You could use Blender as an nle/fx. There is a Mac version and lots of how-to's on the net and Youtube: http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-242/video-sequence-editor/ DAZ studio is free, might be able to project video on a polygon and edit that way. Not sure if there is a Mac ver...

If you are on a PC, Wax is a free nle/fx software:

However, if all you're doing is creating a vignette, you could render the movie as frames (with QT Pro) then do that effect with Actions in Photoshop. Gimp probably has similar "Actions" feature.

Its debatable whether this could be called a bug or not...here goes... If you set AS to auto name shapes as you create them it keeps a memory of the shapes, likely tied to vertices. It seems to remember the style assigned to certain vertices, not necessarily shapes, here's what I mean... If you crea...

Blend Morph Keyframes
Blend Morphs are a bit of a pain to use if a layer group you are using it on is complex. However, it would be much easier if Blend Morphs made a special keyframe. Here's an example: Create a group with several vector layers inside. Create a 1 frame Action using point animation on each vector layer. ...

Actually, I haven't animated anything with a gradient yet. I'm just guessing the bending is too extreme. I typically use solid fills or images. However, I suggest making the image you are filling the shape with larger than the vector shape. So when you manipulate the two circle controls make sure ea...

At first I thought the bone was pulling points across and over the opposite side of the shape, but maybe that isn't the case. Perhaps the bone is pulling the gradient to such as extreme it is causing the anomaly. Instead of using a gradient, try putting an image in the shape that is the same color a...

If you have ASP6 and could post a file I could take a look at it. It's difficult to guess otherwise. However, since masks can be confusing I suggest making your hierarchy simple. Any time you want to mask something else try creating a new Group to hold the object to be masked and the mask. That way ...

OK, now I get it. AS will save dynamically loaded content (audio, images,.obj) using a relative path ONLY if you save EVERYTHING in the same directory as the .anme file. Knowing this helps a little, but not much. Relative paths should be used each time. I am now editing by hand three months of .anime...

Audio Panning and 3D Lighting
I just found out that audio stereo pans! You just animate the translation of the audio from one side of the screen to the other, how cool. Now we just need 5.1 channel panning capabilities ;) Also, You can kinda fake 3D lighting in AS using the layer self shadow feature on your .obj objects. However...

Oh for the love of God and country please change AS so that relative paths can be used instead of absolute paths. Audio, images, and 3D objects are saved as absolute paths, starting with the drive letter! Well, that might be fine for folks who never change computers and save to there operating syste...
