Re: Finally 14
Well, the first thing I did was testing the dreaded alpha issue. I was hoping for new OS and new FinalCut version would be more playing nice. Surprise: it doesn't. The codec menu in OS 13 is the same as in 10.15. Instaling FC doesn't add any more options. Havin Moho 14.1 and FC 10.7.1 on the same ma...

Finally 14
Just an announcement that I finally got a new Mac Mini and successfully set up a Cintiq and Moho 14. Good news: pen pressure is recognized in 14, as it wasn't in 13.5. This is the first new Mac I bought in more than 20 yrs, all other machines were 2nd hand. Hopefully that new setup will last 20 yrs ...

Re: Where is ProRes 4444 with alpha in Moho Pro 14?
No, I suspect Quicktime and this dreaded ProRes alpha ALAC as the culprit. Exporting with PNG alpha from 13.5 gives a file with readable Alpha, so it's not Moho's fault.

Re: Where is ProRes 4444 with alpha in Moho Pro 14?
Mac Mini hasn't arrived yet, so I did some better testing with what's here. I use 3 macs, with OS 10.6, 10.11 and 10.15, so each has different codecs available in quicktime. And of course it's different Moho versions: OS 10.6 AS 9, TVpaint OS 10.11 AS 11 OS 10.15 Moho 13.5 FinalCut 10.3 runs on OS 1...

Re: Change layer display order
Ah, standard problem.
Have dog on one layer, tree on another. Duplicte dog layer, put one in front of tree, one behind. Switch visibility of body parts where necessary.
To animate layer order, layers must be in a bone or group folder, in which "animated layer order" is checked.

Re: Where is ProRes 4444 with alpha in Moho Pro 14?
This problem already exists in Moho 13.5, and since Mac OS 10.15. I can render in ProRes Alpha ALAC as well as in PNG Alpha PSM , whatever that means, but can't import this into FinalCut, another Apple product, with Alpha working. I can't even play PNG Alpha PSM files on that Mac, but I can import t...

Re: Re instal software
You should have the installer in the Backup? Preferrably the one which doesn't need online activation?
after installlation it's just typing in serial number.

File numbering can be corrected in the Finder: select all files and right-click "rename n objects".

Re: Change color of character
This is a task where I really miss the old Animo software. You could colour a character once, then have different color sets based on the first one so you could have a completely new coloring without having to assign colours again.

Re: Change color of character
Depends on your character design. If you want to change each shape into a certain colour: no, that's only possible in the tedious way of changing one by one. If you want your character getting darker for being in shadows or a night scene: put it into a group folder and create another layer with a sh...

Re: Head Turn
Looks a lot like my very first smart bone attempts ... The trick is to have more than just start and end keys for the different face parts, and to set those right you need some guide. I do my head turns in a bitmap program first, correct a lot until each and every frame looks right. Only then I impo...

Re: Animating with Cages and Bars
The cage and bar outlines are much fatter than the cat's outlines. If anything, they should be less prominent. Shadow and highlights are essential to show the cylindrical shape of bars. Also there sould be stronger contrast in the shadows inside the cage. In life action you'd film this with a long l...

Re: Jitter Associated with Track Camera
I tried to google "shatter" which is the term I learned for the effect of jittery/blinky BG elements in a camera pan, but Google doesn't let me do it anymore - it's only offering "shutter" which is not what I want. Enshittification if internet in full action! More googling only c...

Re: Jitter Associated with Track Camera
This is normal behaviour. There's nothing wrong with the first version.
Bigger productions may give the fastest moving plates a motion blur pass. Since those characters don't move you could give the 2 layers some treatment with directional blur.
