After a little research, it appears gif can't handle semi-transparency.

I just tried exporting a gif animation from Gimp and it doesn't give options for the quantization. Maybe there's a setting in preferences or you can modify the script or something. I used to use a program called Microsoft Animated Gif Creator or something like that. It gave you control over how many...

Yes, I think it's a weird side effect of the gif auto-cropping in Gimp. You know that gif quantizes the pixels, so maybe those semi-transparent shadow pixels are converted to opaque black.

Do the png exported images look normal before you convert to gif? Oh, it's before you export a gif from Gimp that you see that already. Right in Gimp it looks like that? I used Gimp for my test. I don't understand. "when I play the animation" - I think it's the conversion to gif that does ...

Did you select "do not premultiply alpha" when exporting png?

I thought GCharb's PCM tip would work because that's what Maya requires for wave files.

Try to always move in arcs. Big beautiful arcs. It's helpful to have guide layers with motion arcs.

Here is a bit of inspiration:

You may have seen it before, but look at the motion arcs.

The images don't really show the hips, which should be more of a give away. Nothing wrong with a tomboy female warrior - actually a good character trait. A very subtle thing like the top eyelashes extending out just enough to notice might help.

I also don't use Final Cut, but Premiere has a default pixel aspect ratio it applies to undefined image sequences. This can be set in preferences. Also, when you import, you can right click on the image sequence and "modify>interpret footage" before adding it to the sequence. I've had to d...

Quite an interesting style you have there. Sort of antique animation with macabre feel. And I like the Vincent Price character with crazed evil gaze glaring through the window and those little devil skeletons.
