Parenting changes?

Sorry, again, for these questions about things that USED to work and now no longer work (in this case, at all) but I can't get a bone to reparent anymore. This used to work just fine: bone.fParent = parentID assuming I have a child bone as "bone" and the ID of the parent I want to assign (...

FileImport Syntax changed?

It used to be you could do: moho:FileImport(file) and insert whatever file you wanted into the system. Now, however, it brings up a dialog box where you must checkmark the items you want to import (even if there is only one layer or item). This is changed as of at least 11, and worked fine in 9 (so ...

Re: Papagayo 2.0 beta 1

This truly is great news, at least going forward. Assuming it works exactly as the old version, the first change that needs to be made is that it should space out the dialog evenly among the waveform (after subtracting the silences at the end and beginning of the file). I actually have a Lua procedu...

Re: AS Highlight Reel

Do it in what FPS you want -- they don't have to share the same FPS. Someone asked elsewhere for a few example ideas, so here are some things anyone is free to use (or at least be inspired by -- or sickened by my sense of humor :>). And note they are just the punchlines -- your animation can show th...

AS Highlight Reel

Folks, First of all let me be crystal clear here -- this is in no way an "official" request. I have no special standing with Smith Micro (although I've worked with the product for five years now and manage the "other" Anime Studio forum). Smith Micro is aware of what I am doing a...

Workflow is very important, so let me show you mine (it's lengthy but contains some important concepts I hope you'll find worth your time): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqvFDYww0bo In this regard there are things that could be added to AS to make it even easy for production work (as it is this all...

You can definitely load more than one image at a time -- worse comes to worst you could even write a script using new features in 8 that do this automagically (I'm not sure how long ago it happened, but at some point you could just drag over multiple drawings from Explorer so even without a script y...

What do you do with your drawings when they are imported into AS? If you don't use AS to manipulate your drawings in any way not only do you not need to upgrade, you don't even need AS. You can import them directly into Final Cut Pro as a scene (like most video editors, FCP will import image sequenc...

Maybe your workflow isn't quite right -- try this... Ah, OK, now I see it. I'm seeing it on a single monitor setup as well. I see that it's definitely tied to the library window being open. I'm going to send you an email in a couple minutes with some more info. I am not sure I understand this. On m...

I discovered the exact culprit, although I still don't have a fix for it. When you have the Library window undocked and open that's when the bad multiple monitor behavior occurs. Without that window open, all is well. This is strange. We've been trying different configurations here this morning and...

Mike, I discovered the exact culprit, although I still don't have a fix for it. When you have the Library window undocked and open that's when the bad multiple monitor behavior occurs. Without that window open, all is well. Since I always have it open this is unacceptable (this happens whether you u...

...problem minimized :). If you are interested, you can download and copy the String.EN.txt file inside the "C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro 8\Resources\Strings" folder, that should be all... but please! Don't overwrite any existing file there; if that is the case (that I'd ...

Re: Timeline retains focus?

Please tell me this isn't so -- in version 8 the timeline now retains focus when you move the arrow. This means you need to first click back into the main window before it will respond to movement on any layer (bone, vector, switch). Mike, I'm at home right now and only have access to a Mac, where ...

Upon further review by a colleague, this bad behavior (timeline focus) only happens with dual monitors. So, a money-returning showstopper for me, but I'd hope Mike that you could at least consider fixing this for some point release (at which point I'll rebuy). While you're at it it would be nice if ...
