I don't think so, because you built such an SWF in Flash by explicitely placing a "stop" command in the last frame.

You can save a lot of work if you place your text in a mask setup and animate the mask so it reveals one character at a time.

Ah, that one! Still a miracle to me. I had a file which would export to SWF and persistantly duplicate the last frame of a character over the entire length. Once I checked this mystery button, it disappeared.

Unlike QT video which can be set to loop or one-shot within the HTML, SWF files need to have all parameters inside. The default behaviour of an SWF exported from Flash is to loop endlessly. The same should be true for SWFs rendered from AS, and I successfully tried that. If your SWF doesn't loop, yo...

Try to put a step keyframe into every channel you animated at the last frame.

If your blink consists of more than one frame, it might be useful to convert the sequence of switches into an action which can easily be applied anywhere.

If you have the right story for that, go ahead! I recommend "Are you real, Mr Joe?" by Stanislaw Lem.

An animator in Berlin did just that - recorded several people's heads on video, extracted the heads, and put them, grimaces and all, on top of AS characters.

Yes, the unability to downgrade is the worst - had that experience some months ago when I tried to remove an Apple 10.4.8 which had a faulty firewire driver. Had to reinstall 10.4.3 from DVD again, and then find all 3rd party drivers again ...

Again: please check your Quicktime version. I use 7.1.5 on a Mac with OS 10.4.11, and this works with Moho 5.3 as well as with AnimeStudio 5.5. A quick search digs up several problems with QT on Vista. Make sure to really get the latest install from Apple. I've seen graphic cards mentioned, so it se...

First, I don't think that it always should need a set of "specialized" tools - a program should be useable with the initial toolset. Second, I don't think that AS' tools should be named "drawing tools" at all. They are, as in every vector program, construction tools. As such they...

OK, testing done. Transparency in video files works . You only have to choose a codec which allows you to set the colour depth to "millions+", the "+" indicates the alpha channel. (Of course I assume your source material has an alpha channel!) On Mac, I tested with PNG and Animat...

Aha - this is different from what I experienced. So it looks like it is a question of choosing the right codec again.

I'll test and report later.

Have a look in the manual and see if you use the correct file format.
