Re: Separating Character & Background

Based on the subject line - Separating Character & Background - I'm wondering if what was meant was more about using z-space to accomplish this. Meaning: Character 1 is closest to the camera. Charcter 2 is in the shot but further away from the camera. The background is the furthest. toshiyori wa...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

I put AS on my Surface Pro 3 -- but mainly because I have it, and I can (I got the SP3 mainly as a portable solution for drawing/illustration). Anyhow, it's definitely not the best on the SP3, mainly (as was mentioned) due to the size of everything. You could alter the resolution to counter that, bu...

Re: WEBINAR: An Overview of frame-by-frame animation in ASP

Chucky, the brushes you use in the webinar, are they available for download? You mentioned the stick fight file, but I cant find them! Sounded like the stick fight file was going to be available though a content purchase soon? The styles/brushes that he used are in the template file that is availab...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

Maybe others are just a lot better at that disconnected drawing, but for me the drawing monitors are without any doubt at all worth the price. Hope that helps some. I had a horrible time when I first started with non-monitor tablets. In fact, I threw mine in the closet for a year almost immediately...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

My resolution on the Surface Pro 3 is 2160x1440... I suppose I could try to lower the resolution a bit, but for my day to day handling, this resolution works fine. Illustrator and Photoshop have tablet UIs that work well with tablets, so I haven't thought to turn my resolution down... I concur, the...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

I should note that I don't use my Surface Pro as my main computer for creating stuff. It's totally superfluous. I got it to replace my iPad, which I loved as a tablet, but hated for doing digital art on (can't use "real" software, not made for stylus use at all, much less accurate pressure...

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

I have a Surface Pro 3, and I can tell you that ASP11 plays well with it. :) There were a couple of unexpected issues with the SP3 pen for digital art in general that I wasn't expecting. If you go that route, you need to make sure you have WinTab and getting RadialMenu (to remap buttons on your pen,...

Re: introduce objects after frame 0

Hmm... this is all good info!

What I've done (in my one project I've done so far) is create everything at 0, but then just set the alpha to zero until it needs to show up (via keyframes). I don't know if that is right or wrong, but I did it, and it worked for me.

Wait, I think I kind of get it.

You bring the animated character clip into AE, and then pair it to the null object with the tracking data, correct?

Re: I Will Quit My Job Today (music video)

It's making sense to me, so far. So much information that is filled with awesomeness! But now I have a few more questions, of course! If you would be so kind to continue making my brain explode... The image stabilization trick is used just for the reference layer, correct? How does it all get put to...
