Re: how to make hands and arm move over and back of the body

As described in that other thread, use Animated Layer Order. This is easier when you've grouped your parts logically (ArmL, ArmR, Torso, etc.) Color coding the groups also helps (i.e., red for right side limbs, green for left side limbs, etc.) Sometimes I'll set up a Smart Bone Action (SBA) to manag...

Re: Release layer and points breaks flexi binding

And at this point, I think some of us are trying to think of small, easy to implement improvements for the immediate future. And I agree with Wes. For me, Moho can be greatly improved with a few 'small' fixes and feature enhancements I've described elsewhere. ('small' is in quotes because I don't r...

Re: When to use which binding

A small update for I wrote in the post above 4 years ago... I still use Use Selected Bones For Flexi-binding for much of a character's body, but I'm also using Point Binding now to lock down specific regions of these layers (typically in joint regions.) It's not unusual for me to use both methods fo...

Re: New Tool Idea

Just confirming what the guys above said. By 'Moho' points, I mean the default state of points before it's been 'activated' as a Bezier point. Once you touch a handle (when they're visible,) the point becomes a Bezier and it behaves differently when deformed by Bones. To avoid this conversion, I pre...

Re: New Tool Idea

I don't think simply using fixed handles to add points messes with bone deformation, so long as you don't mess with the handles themselves. Correct me if I'm wrong, Denis. I just tried it and, yes, I think you're correct. But if the artist is adding a Bezier point to the curve, it's probably with t...

Re: New Tool Idea

Actually, Moho will let you do that if you enable Bezier mode and Fixed Bezier handles. This is fine when you need this level of shape editing control. But you do NOT normally want this when the artwork is meant to be deformed by bones because Bezier points will not deform predictably. Standard Moho...

Re: Release layer and points breaks flexi binding

You can even mix Point binding and Flexi-binding in the same layer...a very useful trick I use all the time! The difference is that Point binding locks a point to a single bone, but Flexi-binding can get influence from multiple bones, so the result can be more squishy or organic. But sometimes you w...

Re: Moho Plans

FYI, I usually leave GPU Acceleration disabled because it rarely displays complex masking correctly, and that's more important to me when I'm animating. Most of the time, Moho is interactive enough for me, and whenever it does slow down, I just hide the layers I don't need to see (i.e., background a...

Re: Moho Plans

Yes, you can do nested masking. It doesn't always preview properly in the workspace but it will render correctly. Also, turning off GPU acceleration can usually improve the preview of the masking effect, but be aware that this is just the on-screen preview and the masking effect may render different...

Re: My Nudge Keys Toolset... Finally!!!!

A little more info: The reason you don't want to install scripts to the program's scripts folder is because you risk overwriting existing scripts or breaking something. If you install the files to your Custom Content Folder and something goes wrong, simply removing the files will set things back to ...

Re: My Nudge Keys Toolset... Finally!!!!

General info: Installing custom scripts in your program's scripts folder isn't recommended. You should install custom scripts in your Custom Content Folder. You can see a typical installation process in this video (scrub to 1:42): https://vimeo.com/331818695 This video isn't specifically about insta...

Glad to hear that!

If you decide to upgrade to Moho 13, it will be better to wait till Moho 13.5 comes out.

Re: Is it possible for me to upgrade my Anime Studio 10 license to a Moho 13 license?

Yeah, I believe that's what the Permanent option does. It removes server license dependency but it also node locks it to one computer so it can't be activated on another computer--there should have been a warning about using it. I think it's meant for computers at facilities that aren't normally con...

Re: Release layer and points breaks flexi binding

Bind Layer and Bind Points are fine. To me, these two are short and clearly named. I don't wish to see the names get longer. I'm also fine with Flexi-bind ...the concept, at least the way it's implemented, is unique to Moho, so I don't mind the uniquely branded name. Plus, it sounds cool. I just fe...
