Puffin Rock maker commits to Moho!

I just heard Cartoon Saloon are setting up a new studio in Ireland that will be using Toon Boom Harmony. I do hope they will still keep using Moho. I really thought Puffin Rock was the start of a new trend for TV series production, and it would start catching on elsewhere. What is wrong with these b...

Re: How do you keep your judgement?

I normally have clients or a boss who will specify what they want - makes it easier. :) But for my own projects, I think back to my college tutors and how they would critique my work (and how my classmates would too, and I would with theirs), and try to apply the same criteria. So I'm probably harsh...

ASP11 had been out a while before November. Chances are, if you wait until November this year, you'll find a similar deal. That's what I'm hoping for.

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

I really didn't mean to start an argument with my suggestion, sorry guys! For what it's worth, I am a professional animator, I make my living from animating. But I don't make enough money from Moho to justify getting the new version immediately. I hope to one day. Yes, I could afford to buy it, but ...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

Oh! I didn't mean for it to be a competitive comparison. Although in hindsight I can see it could be viewed as that. I just thought it would help drive traffic to both tools - those who can afford Moho would choose that, those who can't would go with OpenToonz. And both look easier than After...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

Greg, it might be interesting to compare Plastic with Moho's Smart Warp. Try doing the same animation in both, so people can see how much easier one is than the other.

In the meantime, I await part 3!

Re: Moho 12

You think "professional", I think "trendy". :D I guess the leaders of the industry are silly, blind, trendsetters then. I think you have a low opinion of the sort of people who would purchase Moho. In the case where you have two almost identical products (think Coke and Pepsi), ...

Re: Disappointing expensive Moho 12 Update

To be fair, it must be said that Animo at that time was a full-fledged production system with some very sophisticated features: - vector tools like AS, only more so (imagine a different multi-point colour and alpha gradient at each point of a stroke , stroke offset) - bones, of course - a scanning ...

All the websites he mentioned as examples of "professional" design REQUIRED the user to scroll.

Re: Moho 12

When you first enter the page, the first thing you see is the price and a buy button. Why would I want to buy it if I still don't know it? If you want me to spend $400 bucks, first you have to convince me it's worth it. Every web designer worth their salt knows that putting a big Call To Action but...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Why not just use 3D, and be done with it? Also, 3D can't do the impossible things that 2D can do. Drawings can be "wrong", and not work in the 3rd dimension. That's why, IMHO, 2D is more emotional on an artistic level than 3D. Yes, Pixar can kill a character and make everyone in the cinem...

It is for Cartoon Saloon and Lupus Films. Song of the Sea? Ethel & Ernest? Both hand-drawn in TV Paint. Both beautiful, and cheaper productions than anything from North America.
