I am not sure that layer sorting-by-depth affects the appearance of keys on the timeline under 'layer ordering'. I am relatively new to AS so may be wrong but it seems as long as the layer is in a folder (bone, group - NOT switch) changes will be shown - outside frame 0. It seems the layer has to be...

Thanks for the sample file vern. It is useful to have the technique described but I find having an AS file to pick over is so informative. The bottom line of course is being able to apply the principle to a variety of situations but sometimes getting the head around some of the abstractions can be t...

moving points to move the door? Sure. It is in the distance and movement starts as the camera moves in so not a lot of detail visible. Grab 2 points of the door outer edge and 4 for the knob and arc over three keys. Good enough. Planning is something that is coming slowly and with it better use of ...

Replacing standard tools - code fix
I am impressed with Fazek's tools and am replacing most of the standard tools with them. However, I am getting some lua console errors. I have replaced lm_select_points. Click the oval or rectangle tool and (other) tools - no problem. Use the shortcut key - L, E, ... and I get an error. "...scr...

add points after transition
I have done the transitions to open a door but, oooops - I forgot to make a door handle. I go back to frame 0 and pop it on but, the transition I made don't include those points. Is there an easy way to add them in the keyframes? No big deal, in this instance, to just redo the move but I could see i...

sure... so very obvious when one looks in the right way. I have previously, accidentally moved layers mid-timeline and seen the flicker of movement in the layers window as I scrub through. One less thing to learn :)) - thankyou BTW - I tried to find the 'Layer Ordering' icon -- for my cheat-sheet bu...

I have been working with something similar and wonder at: > A keyframe will appear on your bone or group layer for LAYER ORDERING. I am working in a group layer. Here is a shot of my timeline settings box. Nothing here. http://www.BuddhaMind.info/as/bits/tool_settings.png I tried just moving a layer...

Great. Drops in nicely. Having a numbered list does tell me a lot more. Great lead - thanks. It took me a while to make sense of the function - <CTRL><U/D>lower/hidden You have to click where there are several shapes overlapping and it toggles between the overlapping shapes - ignoring other shapes. ...

another option - if you just want a single frame - is set your timeline to the part you want and render that (ctrl + R) and then take a screen shot of the render window and paste it into your image editing software - photoshop etc. screen shots - on a PC there is almost always a 'prt scr' button the...

Fazek's tools -- and description
I have been working through each of Fazek's tools, reading his description for each and then seeing what it does, and then getting a sense of what each one offers over and above the standard tool. They are a brilliant addition. As I worked I presumed to rewrite his description. I am a bit like that ...

line-width + shape layer info
I wonder at the relationship between line-width (tool) and line-width (style). The tool seems to over-ride style. Draw a rectangle > create shape > style line-width=4 Select points > tool line-width = 6 change my mind and want to get rid of tool setting. Tool line-width = 1 or 0 or? - either way I l...
