As I said, I am in contact with the tech people, but meanwhile I'm still trying to get the work done. And I'm almost finished with it. I just had a good 40 minutes or so without a crash (Yay!) and then I clicked on a group layer to open it and BOOM! Crash. So, I do one thing, then I save it, then I ...

I'm having crashing problems on Mac OS X with ASP8. I'm working on an animation that uses a lot of images, warped with bones, as well as vector layers, and ASP8 crashes all the time. It's gotten now so that it crashes when I select a layer in the Layer Manager, or do other simple things, like transl...

Thanks, Sven. Maybe I'll look into Macports when I have a little more time. It's the command typing business that scares me, as I am definitely not a programmer sort of person. But it sounds simple enough.

I've downloaded the Mac version (0.62.02) and tried installing it on two different machines, but keep getting a message saying the installation failed. I'm running 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard). Does this only work on 10.5, maybe? I've tried installing several times with the same results, even re-downloaded...

Hi slowtiger, I had briefly thought about putting each thing into a group layer, but hadn't tried it (laziness on my part - there are a lot of elements that need this). I just tried it with one thing, and it worked fine. So that's the solution for me, where I don't have to re-animate everything all ...

Moving layers that have animation in them

I'm running ASPro8 on a Mac (Snow Leopard). I'm revising an animation I made previously in ASPro7. It's done mainly using images, with bones to warp them. So, the animation tracks consist of bones moving as well as layer translation. Now, in the revision, I have to take these layers animated with bo...

The drawing tools in ASPro are vector tools. And you can draw as accurately with them as you like, once you know how to use them. ASPro doesn't create bitmap or raster images. But you can import raster images into ASPro and animate them, so you can do both with AS. I often use images and vector draw...

Photoshop is used in animation for processing images. ASPro will import images very well, and you can animate them, apply bones to warp them, and do a lot. So Photoshop is invaluable for that. There are other image processing programs that do similar things, but I use Photoshop - it's for much more ...

I recommend Illustrator and Photoshop, if you don't already have them. I use Photoshop more in conjunction with animation, but I have imported Illustrator files into ASPro, but not that often. I also use ArtRage for various things. It's a "natural media" painting program, dedicated to pain...

Hi, It sounds like you're new to using the tablet with the computer, so I think it's more a matter of getting used to using one. It's a little different from drawing on paper, as you are looking at the screen and not at the place where the pen point is tracking. The size of the tablet really shouldn...

I've seen a lot of this sort of thing on YouTube. I view a lot of musicians (mainly guitar players) on YT, and it seems they are always out of sync. I've read about this also on various forums, so I think it's a YouTube problem, but I don't know what the solution is. Maybe contact YouTube and see if...

I can't find any kind of folder with icons like that. Can't find a Resources folder anywhere associated with Smith Micro or ASPro. I searched for Smith Micro, Resources, and the names of several of the icons in your screen shot, and found nothing. I did find resources folders for other programs, but...
