Fazeks scripts

Away from AS for a few years (writing PC games) so thought to start my reintegration at a simple level. My general question is the degree to which earlier, basic (for me) user scripts have been integrated into ver9 I thought to focus - start with - Fazeks tools as they seems so basic and useful. Are...

@ed Read able... Yes, I confess skipping a whole bunch There are two (many actually) elements in a forum - social and technical. I figure most are here primarily for the 2nd. Re: "It appears that a file was not properly saved last time

Yes, a bit irritating. ver9.0 - same msg. Only seems to happen when there is another instance already open. PC - roughly the same path - users/ ?? /AppData/Roaming/SM/AS/9/Autosave.anme I renamed - restarted - same msg. I deleted - same msg For both of these approaches a new Autosave.anme file was c...

Re: question

Hey Ahzra.... your last post Sep 2012 Are you still animating? Still breathing. 27 It took me til I was about 35 before I started to make much sense of this world - and I live in a very easy environment. follow your heart - do what you love. There will be, there ARE others who love the same thing. H...

Re: tools [old player returns]

BIG thanks for the replies. Ahhhhh, Ed - can I just do Ed? E* ed Too 2 is more than my multiple thumbs can auto in one glance and attempts to remember the syntax. A fellow "down under?" And what wonderful energy and work. I am very Goons, Python, Douglas Adams (HitchHikers Guide - if you d...

Re: tools [old player returns]

I am slowly getting my AS world back together - old files, projects, scripts etc. It will take a while. I need to spend more time with the new version but... refer to above. I have found ASS.com [scripting post Feb 13 2013 - so very new - but 5900 views] and see David Rylander's two way ticket is th...

tools [old player returns]

I was diverted from animation into gaming. Back again... I am looking at ver9 and wonder about custom tool integration. I admit to being surprised seeing Fazek's tools still offered as 'extra' (for ver 8). They were essential for me back in ver6 - where I left off - and I thought they may have been ...

thanks again

If you have been using 'regular' vector software (illustrator, xara, corel etc) you have to allow that AS curves are not as one would expect. For a start there are no 'handles' to adjust curvature. It takes a bit of getting used to. If you want the shape on one layer then anchor points are best mean...

Would have been helpful if they would have listed the shortcuts
I put together a cheat sheet a while back as part of my AS study

It is no doubt missing bits for ver6 but may still be useful

Interesting thread and certainly relevant to me. I think " plan out your projects well " is probably the best suggestion and one I should take more notice of but..... gah! I am a bit messy and erratic - I like to think it is artistic. Hah! I find that switching to a different part o...

TOTALLY agree - :!: :!: :!: :!: y e s....... If I thought it would make a difference I would post and lobby all over. However. There are two things at issue - the load time for sure, but also the high point count that text produces. Unless you are significantly animating your text it is better to us...

Brushes overrun corners

I have been experimenting with a few custom brushes and wonder if there is some way of having the brush turn nicely at peaked corners. This example has a relatively long stroke but the same issue seems to apply generally. http://www.BuddhaMind.info/as/bits/brush_ex.jpg I have tried altering brush le...

I got the first version working fine (in AS6) but _bonesv2.lua gave a console error immediately after embedding the script and clicking OK: line 48 - attempt to call a table value A three shape test gives 3 instances of the same error. The same error then occurs for every action - move in the timeli...
